I'm a traditional artist in watercolor.But I have now a painter IX and find the time to buyed a wacom tablet intuos 3.My litle experience is that the tablet give a feeling of real art with painter. But I will find out the brushes how it realy work and make later my own brushes for watercolor. I loved to do with painter. I see to newbie's give never up.try and practice.

I don't have the answer to your question (it could be something more easily achievable in Photoshop than Painter), but you could try posting your question in the Painter Discussions > Corel Painter X forum.

Hi jgbales,

After unzipping, the folder named Static_Pencils (which with contents is a complete brush library for Painter 7 and above) should be placed at the top level of the Brushes folder. Use the Load Library option in the Brush Selector Bar menu to navigate to and load the Static Pencils library. Do not use the Import option, as this is used to import/convert non-xml, pre-Painter 7 libraries, which are .brs files on the PC platform.

David,

I downloaded your zip file and put the extracted static pencils folder in the brushes/painter brushes folder, but when I try to load the library it ask me for a .brs file. I have gone thru the manual and the on line help but it doesn't tell me what I am doing wrong. Can you help me?

Thanks greatly for the feedback and compliments Elaina and Kathy. I've been experimenting with Painter for several years now, but it is only recently that some of the dots are starting to join up. There is still much more to discover though.

This gives such hope to newbies like me. I love the idea of digital art but I'm very comfortable in traditional mediums. It's daunting to try but exciting as well. I begin this month.

I'll post art once it's up to some reasonable level of skill
