Hi folks. I downloaded the trial to test before upgrading my Painter X.  However, after installation, I get the Error: 18 and told to reinstall from original source.  yet same thing happens when I unistall then install again.  Any ideas please?   Running OS X 10.5.6 on a dual Quad 2.66Ghz system with 16 Gb RAM

For comparison, on my G5 Quad (PPC) with 10.5.6 and 12GB of RAM, the trial version loads and runs (so far) without error.

Painter X is still installed. 

I haven't tried installing or running on my Intel MacBook Pro...

I installed P11 on a MacBook Pro OS X 10.5.6 with 4GB Ram and a MacPro OS X 10.5.6 on a dualcore Xeon  2x2.66Ghz system with 9 Gb RAM and it works.

Error 18 is "Corrupt Trial". You may want to download the trial again.

Also, installing Painter 11 trial while Painter X is installed is a fully supported configuration.

Having ran the trial for weeks with no issues  in my MBP (Tiger, 10.4.6, 2gh of RAM) I suddenly got this error message on yesterday:

Reinstalling did not work, so I repaired the system with Onyx and after a reboot it worked again.

I am experiencing the same thing only with PC. I do not receive the error message however it simply will not launch. I just got off a lengthy conversation with Tech support and always the same response, Hold down the Shift Key, turn off Norton , re-install and so on. I gave up after that.

Jinny perhaps I can start a thread on this issue just for PC user, so there is no confusion, just wanted folks to know that this is happening more frequently and apparently Tech support does not know why.

Feel free to begin a new thread and, since problems affect some OS versions and not others, even on the same platform, along with the regular topic title be sure to inlude Windows Vista (that's what  you're using, right?).

Then, anyone using the same OS version who's having the same problem can add to the thread.

and the corresponding reinstalls, I´m not able to launch Painter 11 in my Macbook Pro anymore.

Cool.

Well after the last reinstall it works and very well.

I´m sure that the will incorporate a fix in a patch so we will get  the great Painter 11 we all deserve, developers included. ;)

By the way: reinstalling Painter 11 is the solution, not OSX.

I have re-installed a number of times, cleaned with onyx, re-booted, etc. Still shows Error 18.

I downloaded the trial, purchased the upgrade key. worked as a trial and doesn't work now. On mac osx, 10.5.6.

Nothing so far has worked. What can I do?

You have to completely uninstall the trial (Corel support ought to tell you how)  then install it again.

Thanks for the response. Un-installed by removing the painter 11 folder, deleting preferences. If there's anything else to remove I'm not aware. Haven't heard back from Corel support yet so don't know other details?

yesterday it happened: Error 18 alert window appeared on my Macbook pro display!

Hope a patch will arrive as soon as possible also for Mac users

Paolo, our Corel friends have allegedly said in public that a patch for Mac will come too.

Until you get the patch  ... don´t you keep a Time Machine backup ?(or any other if you run Tiger) Backing up is so easy, complete in Mac OSX  that is a sin to forget it .

I don´t use TM but Superduper, Even the free version works like charm. We can get incremental bootable, identical copies of our whole drives for free. (something you cannot even dream in Windows) Don´t forget it.

I know it´s not the solution but just want to remind it. Hope it kinda helps... :(
