A question about creating custom papers

Hi, I just registered today, but I've been lurking every now and then for a while. :)

Back in February, I saw a post by Jinny Brown (I think) where she showed how to create a custom paper, starting with a modified nervous pen and appling some effects. After several tries, I was able to make a custom paper I was really happy with, and I use it all the time now. I would really like to make some more papers. The problem is, I don't remember the process anymore, and I can't find the post. :(

Jinny, would you be so kind to explain how it is done again? Thank you very much!

Thanks for the reply, but it was a very specific process involving a number of steps, starting with a nervous brush with high random settings, and the last step was applying certain effect. I tried all the effects today, and none of them did anything even remotely close to what I am looking for. I guess it is because I skipped the middle steps.

     Hi Jinny,

What I saw last time was a little different from that tutorial, but it did refresh my memory, so thank you very much! Glass distortion was what I was looking for. What it does is so random, yet you need to be very precise with all the sliders as well as a base paper to achieve the desired effect. Here's a portrait I did from photo reference using a custom paper I made yesterday:

    Hi,

    Nice work, Hoezart!

Yes, the Glass Distortion Effect takes a bit of playing to get a result we like. I'd recommend setting aside some time to do just that and when you find settings that work for you, before making any changes in the Glass Distortion dialog box, open it again and do a screen print. Then save that screen print in the same location where you saved the image on which you used those settings.
