    philippec leaving Corel

    Dear Painter users,

This is my last week working on Painter at Corel. I have been priviledged to work on Painter 8, 9, X and 11, as well as Painter Classic and Painter Essentials (all versions). And SketchPad! My favorite product of the last year.

As I begin my new job next week (bringing new and exciting video games to the Mac & Linux platforms), I am reminded that I won't be able to contribute to this community anymore.

I'm glad that I was able to help some of you, and I hope you found my posts insightful, even though I was bound by many rules. We all understand why these rules exist, but I am delighted that we could have useful conversations within these rules.

I thank you all for your contributions to Painter. This is a very special program with a very special community, and I'm glad, in this bittersweet moment, to have been part of it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Wow! Sorry to see you go, Philippec! You've been a great contact here on the forum (and although we don't know exactly which parts of Painter you worked on, I know I very much appreciate all the time, effort, and creativity you put into making it the program I love)

Have a great time with your new job ( after all, Mac and Linux DO need new and exciting games!).

    Pax!

The information you have provided us in your post http://painterfactory.com/forums/p/1939/8855.aspx#8855 about the size of the thumbnail saved with RIFF files is something I have been looking for since Painter 11 came out.

Thank you for your contribution to Painter, our beloved program, over the years. I'll miss you here, but I would like to congratulate you on your venturing onto a new territory.

I, too, am disappointed to read you are leaving the Painter team. During the short time I've been somewhat active on these forums, yours has been a consistently helpful voice. I hope another will step in quickly to fill the space left by your departure. Best of luck with the new job.
