    Taking a Break, Kaleido... scope!

    Hi,

Often, something I did long ago get's pulled out of the cobwebs, dusted off, and recycled.

This image began it's life in the 80's as an outa-my-head traditional pencil doodle, complete with scribbled thoughts of the moment, something in the news about Saigon, a hole in my bathroom door, and a question about one of the local animal hospitals.

Last year, I decided to clean up the pencil sketch, try adding some color and, as usual, got a bit carried away.

The most recent was done a couple of days ago for the Doodle a Day forum at Painter Talk. It just fit the amount of time and energy I had and relaxing wasn't so bad either.

If you think it's ugly, I'm not sure but I might agree, overall it is in a way. ;)

I think they are lovely.  I love the colors, very calming.

My art leads me to my sacred space.

     Thanks, syd.

I like the colors too, but not everyone likes such a muted palette.

I like the colors... the muted palate... I agree it is relaxing.

I particularly like the bottom one.. it reminds me of artichokes... haven't had those in a long time... makes me hungry (ok, so I'm a nut). =8^)

    Hey, Nate!

    If you're a nut, so am I. ;)

I love artichokes, haven't had one in ages, and agree the third one has and artichokey feel.

Hungry too! Let's do lunch. ;)

I like the first one the best.  Like the simplicity and spontaneity and ease of it.

Of course, you had to take out the notes, etc., for a forum.

Doodle a Day?  Is that still an ongoing thing?  That sounds like a lot of fun.  I'd be interested in something like that.
