    Wolf

Many moons ago I said I was going to paint a wolf - well, it is now at stage where I can show it here.  Athough the wolf is pretty much finished I am still working on the background.  It is an Iberian wolf - sub species.

Sorry but you'll have to click the link because I'm just getting the dreaded red cross (it is under max size). I've added a close-up.

Jin - I tried to find your post from my last failure but it seems to be missing in action - archived, perhaps?  I'm having such a problem with an incredibly slow browser my frustration levels are near to boiling.

    Hi Tina,

Is this the thread you mean when referring to my post? Hi Peeps

I'll see if I can display your two images in this post and if it works, I'll try to help you do it, then I'll delete them from this post.

OK, it worked. Here's what I did:

    1. Clicked the link in your post to display the two images.

    2. Right-clicked the top image and choose Copy Image Location.

    3. In a new browser window, I  began my response to your post, then at the top of the message editing window, I clicked the Insert/edit image icon , pasted the copied image URL into the Image URL field, then clicked the Insert button. The image appeared in my post.

    4. Then I toggled back to the page where your images were displayed, right-clicked the bottom image, choose Copy Image Location, toggled back to the message editing window and repeated the same steps to display the second image.

There are other ways to display images in our posts, but since you have your images uploaded to your website, that's an easy way and it's one of the two ways I do it. The other is to type beginning and ending image tags, then paste the URL to my image file between the image tags like this:

When you get the two images to display in your initial post in this thread, I'll delete them from this post.

    Good luck!

    Re: Wolf

    Thanks Jin,

I did try all that before except I don't have the 'copy image location' option but I did copy and paste the url (from properties).

I will have a go again right now.

    Thanks again.

Update     I used Purge IE to really clean out the browser cache and it now works. Thanks Jin.  I've been having a lot of trouble with IE (it's going round and related to a security update), opening windows and tabs now takes forever and I get lots of time outs.  I suppose it's time to make firefox the default browser....sigh. I'm one of the few that like IE.

     Tina,

Now that we've got you all squared away with your images displaying, I've deleted them from my post and want to say....

It's no surprise this wolf painting is beautiful. Your work always is, and it's nice to see the wolf here at The PainterFactory. I've been watching it's development over at WetCanvas! and wondering when we'd see it here.

Thanks for sharing Mr. Wolf with us, handsome fellow that he is.

I just want to reach out and touch the wolf's coat it looks so real. Forgive me if I turn a little green with envy, but it is all so awesome I am at a loss for words.

    Re: Wolf

Tina congratulations you did a wonderful work on the fur . One suggestion if you want to make the fur more shiny use a different multiply layer it could help for the contrast without killing your work . Anyway congartulations again

    Re: Wolf

Thank you for your comments Scala.  I have used a multiply layer for shadows but not for making the fur look shiny.  If the need arises I will bear your suggestion in mind - thanks.

    Re: Wolf

    Hi All,

A small update.  Have cropped in tighter - which appeals to me more as I could add more detail in the tree area!   The branch behind the wolf was a lot of fun to paint and surprisingly easy.

The wolf need some more work (stray hairs, softened edges etc.) and I have plans for the empty space lower right.  There is a small close-up of the background on my blog. http://www.inertpixel.blogspot.com
