Wild roses painted with no fear!

A friend and fellow artist believes that to be great painter you must have no fear. No fear of making the wrong marks, or loosing control of the medium. Like me, he was an illustrator for many years. Now he paints full-time but can’t shake the fear.

    He should try painter ;)

What a beautiful wild rose, Tony.  At my entrance to my home, I have them running up several trees.  A lot of folks have stopped to gather a bouquet.

This is lovely, delicately and graceful even if done without fear.

Wild roses are my favorite of all...when I was a little girl, I used to go with my Dad to work in the summer and we passed a tree that had them all the way to the top.  I used to anticipate that tree miles before we got to it...I can see it now, but darn if I can paint it to suit me...

I do understand that feeling ann. I have an image inside my head at times and I can never seem to create a painting that does it justice. But it is great fun to keep trying and to be inspired by images such as this one.
