I have downloaded David Gell's suminagashi brushes and had great fun just seeing what each brush can do. My playpen is a place to put these experiments.

Thanks ann. This next one was a real playtime using only the 'life form' brush. It's a bit of fun.

Upon looking at this one again, I bet I could do better on that wild rose that is in my head...where can this brush be obtained, please?

I found it in the link on jinny's suminagashi post ann. There really are some fabulouse brushes and blenders in this little package.

I look forward to seeing how you use them and also to seeing the rose image come to life outside of your head. Go for it. ;-)

Oh ... I don't think they will go into painter X but will go from 7 to IX.1

If I am wrong I am sure someone will let us know.

It's going to be so much fun watching to see what you do with David's Suminagashi brushes, and I'm glad you haven't made us wait too long to see the first few.

David's Suminagashi brush library can be installed in all Painter versions, from Painter 7 through Painter X.1

If you want to install the brush library in multiple versions, it will be quickest, easiest, and cause fewer problems if each time you install from the extracted ZIP file (rather than copying and pasting from one Painter version installation location to another Painter version installation location).

Before attempting to install the Suminagashi brush library,  sure to read my installation instructions in the suminagashi brushes thread. It'll save you time and frustration.

Thanks jinny, I will get them into painter X.1 shortly. However I am just having fun with them at the moment.

I have printed every bit of info I can find to load these brushes, and all of my hair has fallen out this weekend because of it.  I look quite good bald!!  Ha!

I saw some of jinny's work that she did with a suminagashi brush and I have now put these in my painter IX programme. The images in this thread of posts are some that I have done whilst experimenting with these brushes. I just love the fluidity and unpredictability of them.

We will have to weave you a wig sheila until your hair grows again ... LOL

I was about to tell you how I copied them into my programme sheila and then I remembered that the brush folder in PainterX is different to painter IX and I have not yet worked out how to do it in this one.

I will have a try tomorrow and let you know how it goes sheila. Or perhaps we can go bald together ... LOL
