    Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!!!!!!

Look i'm having problems with my painter. First its the Academy version. Ok this is what happens. First its super slow, when ever i do brush strokes or a quick brush strokes i have to wait until it slowly finishes, second it keeps on showing that freake'n window "Now Evaluating Brush Directions". This also happens whenever i turn the pen to use the back part to erase something. The thing is i can't understand why it would do something like that on a system that i have, the slow part is more shocking to me then the rest. I have 2.60 Quad Core, 500GB of internal hard drive 7200RPM, NVIDA Quad FX570 also 4GB of Ram and i'm going to upgraded to 8GB. Can any one please tell me why it's like this? It started happening the first day i got it, its just i keep calling the company late and their closed. My operating system is Vista.

disable brush ghosting. download the patch... and if you're new to Painter then you might also be painting with brushes jacked up to a large of pixel size. if this is the case then you'll have to figure out your optimum brush sizing for your system and preferred canvas dpi. Painter brushes are doing huge amounts of processing.

Hi, and welcome to The PainterFactory, John!

To disable the Enhanced Brush Ghost (which is what ghi means, or should mean since that's one thing that can slow down Painter X's performance), go to:

    Mac - Painter X > Preferences > General

    Windows - Edit > Preferences > General

Then uncheck the Enhanced Brush Ghost box and click the OK button.

Also check these two threads at the Conceptart.org Painter forum to learn how to keep Painter running smoothly and how to speed up your Painter brushes:
