Looking for a spot on the Factory Wall?

So a number of folks have asked, and a few have emailed to ask how they can get a spot on the Factory Wall.

So the easy answer is you just have to ask.

But this being a community site with a few hundred folks registered to the site, unfortunately we cannot offer a spot up to everybody.

So here's the deal...

Send an email to us at painterteam@corel.com with the following info:

Your Name (real name please)
Your PainterFactory ID
A link to an existing collection of your artwork that would be typical of what you would post on your bit of the Factory Wall (or a few sample pieces attached to the email)
Desired title of the proposed gallery
Any desired comments that you wish to share

Your artwork will be reviewed by an ad hoc committee here, and folks that are 'approved' for galleries will be notified (by email) once they are set up with info to access etc...

This will be an ongoing process, so if you don't feel up to it right now, feel free to keep this in mind, you can always submit in the future. While we will not be reviewing the submissions on a dialy basis, we will be hoping to add folks from time to time depending on the submission rate.

BTW... the review group is a good crew, and not at all snibbish about the artwork, so give it a go if you feel like sharing your work with others in the PainterFactory.

Dear Painter users,

This is my last week working on Painter at Corel. I have been priviledged to work on Painter 8, 9, X and 11, as well as Painter Classic and Painter Essentials (all versions). And SketchPad! My favorite product of the last year.

As I begin my new job next week (bringing new and exciting video games to the Mac & Linux platforms), I am reminded that I won't be able to contribute to this community anymore.

I'm glad that I was able to help some of you, and I hope you found my posts insightful, even though I was bound by many rules. We all understand why these rules exist, but I am delighted that we could have useful conversations within these rules.

I thank you all for your contributions to Painter. This is a very special program with a very special community, and I'm glad, in this bittersweet moment, to have been part of it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

One Subject Line Per Thread

Please Read This, Everyone:

The Share Your Work forum thread named Hello has had it's subject line changed several times since the thread was started.

With the exception of a few messages in that thread posted by the oriignal thread author, I've edited the thread so each post carries the original subject line, Hello, posted the new focus lines (the changed subject line text) at the top of the message in bold text, and I've asked the thread author to do the same for those messages I was not able to edit.

If you've been following the Hello thread (by whatever the subject line was when you last read the thread) and are looking for any of the following subject lines...

For your own threads and posts in others' threads, please only use the original thread's subject line and, if you want to change the thread focus in a particular post, just type a line describing the new focus at the top of your message, in bold text.

This will make it easier for members to find, and follow the threads.
