Pen Size Shortcuts

Hey

I'm using Sketch Pad on Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard and i can't change the pen size with a shortcut.

The documentation says it should be [ and ] for increasing or decreasing it. Pressing alt+5 or alt+6 (german layout, dunno if that matters not quite a mac user really, trying to fix it for my girlfriend ;-)) does not effect anything.

I'm trying to make the pen size settable through the wheel on her intuos4, I could probably achieve that, if the shortcuts were working.

Crashing Problems?

I 've been using the product for about a day and half, and well, its crashing, alot. Almost every 20 minutes. Are there patches for it?

Hi, Y'all!

I'm brand new to Corel Painter Sketch Pad, and new to the forum.

I purchased an Intuos4 wireless tablet recently, and chose Sketch Pad and the updated Photoshop Elements 8 as my "bundled software downloads." So I'm trying to familiarize myself with both the tablet/pens devices and the software interfaces and skillful (someday?) use of tools...

Unfortunately, to my newbie and naiïve eyes, Sketch Pad is remarkably frustrating because I haven't found (missed?) any tutorials — even if just explaining the interface, tools, and what isn't enabled in this version.

I've searched around here in the Painter DIscussions and haven't located this kind of thing (yet: hopefully I'm just being dense). In fact, though this sub-forum seems to be created specifically for Sketch Pad and lists 10 threads, I've only found 1 of 'em accessible. Elsewhere, I did locate this thread, which is kinda on-topic.

Anyway, too wordy: Might anybody be willing to help me? I don't even functionally understand the "tool wheels" at the bottom of the workspace fully yet and am simply looking for basic answers...

SketchPad and 4G RAM - still hungry :)

I like this little hungry Sketch Pad very much (and from the very first sight:) despite its appetite ( memory! :) Sketch Pad either freezes and crashes (quits without saving) or becomes very slow quickly (4G RAM, I use mac osx)...I do not use big resolutions/600X480 <90ppi and I cope with its hunger by dropping all layers and starting new sketch pad/page on every step (or as soon as it slows down its response to stilus... :)

Do corel plan any update /anything to improve SketchPad's memmory usage (memory usage progress bar /scratch disks)? sometimes just need those brushes that mimic natural media/real-bristle in a sketch... :) and there is not much info on that product...

Cannot Install Corel Painter Sketchpad

After receivng the license key for this software (since I now got an intuos4) I cannot install Corel Painter sketchpad. It will ask for the serial, go through the installation only to tell me at the end it cannot install because there is a previous version on my computer. I can only presume this is a renmant of the TBYB version of Sketchpad I had believed to have uninstalled from my machine. It says it hasn't modified my system but this is not true.

1. It places new registry entries

2. I creates on the start menu that won't run.

3. It adds itself to the program files

Painter's Sketchpad install utility tells me to uninstall by Removing Programs in the Control panel. Of course there is no entry for Painter Sketchpad. I even tried to use the Windows cleanup utlility but it doesn't find this entry too.

Painter Sketchpad desperately needs a "modify/repair" utlitiy to a broken installation. Basically I have copy from being an intuos4 purchaser that won't work...this is very aggravating. Any help would be appreciated.

Using a Duo Core 1.6ghz with 2gb of Ram. Windows XP service Pack 3

I'm new to the digital world of art. And so far it's simply amazing. I just bought the Wacom intuos 4 and I'm having a blast! But I'd like to save some basic sketches in vector format to use with a vector based program. Is it possible to do this with Coral Painter Sketch Pad software? Or do I need to get aother program?

So yeah, I'm new to this entire universe of digital art! long time appreciator of it, but I'm used to a pad of paper, And I know some would say I might as well be using an indian paintbrush on a cave wall but here I am trying to catch up. Just got Corel painter sketch Pad with a Wacom Cintiq 12W . Three months I didn't Know This stuff Was real!! And now Im drawing on my computer monitor, actually on it!! I don't know what Im doing...... At all ........Help!!!!!!Pointers, Tutorials, any tips welcome.

After reading all the posts about problems with getting this software to run, I really don't want to potentially gum up my registry; however, the software intrigues me. Can someone tell me who has it and likes it if there are tutorials or user guides with it? I would like to try it but am uncertain. Thanks for your help.

Cannot use Sketch Pad and Cintiq together

Hello out there. I do not know if I had a brain fart or something but I cannot get Sketch Pad to work on my Cintiq. Painter 11 works perfectly but for some reason I cannot figure this one out.

Whoa! I must say, those Corel support people are really knoweldgeable and helpful! (...don't forget to put the quotation marks around that statement...)

A couple of days ago, I submitted 2 bug reports (that's two separate ones) to Corel that I found in Sketchpad that came with the Wacom tablet. Corel has a section on their website where you can submit bug reports with details, etc. Pay special attention to the expression BUG REPORT not support request. Described the sympoms, listed my drivers, setup, steps to reproduce the issue, included screenshots, and expressed that I've installed a new patch that was available.

So here's the response I got from Corel:

"We regret that your inquiry does not fall within the basic free-of-charge installation support offered by E-mail. Before you try any of the options below, we strongly recommend that you apply the latest patches & updates available at www.corel.com/support to make sure your software is up to date. We may have already resolved your issue."

I guess I have small words that I could insert here expressing my opinion about this response, but who cares, right? They don't seems to care, and I don't. I did my part.

My experience with intelligent support is that they either acknowledge the bug by being able to reproduce them, or not. But a reponse that "your inquiry does not fall within the basic free-of-charge installation support offered by E-mail" defies all common sense.

CPU Bug also in Sketch Pad

Sketch Pad is also using 100% CPU of a single processor just like Painter 11. This really needs to be fixed in both apps.
