Hi Rob,
I began using Painter when version 7 was out. I have embraced every upgrade since... except 11. I could not use it and be productive. I do know to turn off enhanced brush ghosting option (that has bogged down P severly in the last editions as well). But basic ghost brushing is apart of my work flow. I very much like/desire/need(!) seeing the brush size as I work.
PX has been a joy for me. PX hardly has ever crashed on me (it is as stable as PS for me). I would like/wishlist Painter to use more installed memory (I have 10 GB!), but it is wasted on Painter (yes, I am amongst the "production" group who makes my living w/ Painter, so yes, I desire pro power user features, better memory use, P not bogging down after a few layers. I love the new water color, but it kills my speed (and there's not too many out there that have a more powerful speedier "set up" Mac than me) and not all this sidebar effort towards cloning photos, etc. But I understand if those features put "butts in the seats" for Corel. I am a realist).
I KNOW is not recent news to some at Corel that quite a few of us professionals out here, had to drop using P11 to get our work done, going back to PX(first time I had to do this in Painter's upgrades. I am/was on Leopard, now Snow Leopard). This hurt, as I am an upgrade guy. I reported plenty in detail, hardware, etc. (maybe to Steve) at the time. And heard not too long ago back directly from someone Corel that a Mac update/patch was in the works...so you are catchingme off guard here?
When I get time, not right now, I will try P11 w/ Snow Leopard, and see what results I get. Obviously P11 was even effecting PX in negative way on my machine w/ 10.5.8. Something is not right. Thanks, Rob.
