Yes, yes, yes!!!  I love them! I'm somewhat using the Real pastels almost exclusively for my last few paintings! (now that the bugs have been mostly fixed.)

My experience with Real Brushes is that they work fine intially, but after a few minutes they slow down to the point of un-useability. I have to quite and rerun Painter to restore their useability. Makes Real Brushes rather useless for me.

Interesting. I suspect that may be hardware related as I've been using the Real Pastels almost constantly for the last couple of months without any issues associated with them.

    Hi Steve,

    Try these adjustments:

Go to Preferences > General and make sure the,

    • Enhanced Brush Ghost box is not checked
    • Draw zoomed-in views using area-averaging box is not checked

Open the Brush Controls palettes (Window > Brush Controls > Show General) and in the General palette, adjust the Boost slider to the right until you notice a difference in speed when painting brush strokes.

Then, for more info on speeding up Painter's performance and keeping Painter running smoothly, Check these two threads at the Conceptart.org Painter forum to learn how to keep Painter running smoothly and how to speed up your Painter brushes:
