A Collection of Corel Painter and Other Videos (Free)

NOTE:  Please post  video links only  in this thread. For links to tutorials found on other sites, see the
thread linked below and if you have any off-site tutorial links to share, please post them in that thread:

I guess videos fall best under the category of Tutorials even it they're sometimes only painting or drawing demonstrations. We can still learn from them!

With your help, this thread can grow to contain a good collection of links to free Corel Painter videos, all in one place and easy to find. If you come across more links to free Painter videos, feel free to post them in this thread. Thanks in advance for your participation!

To get this started, here's a nice little video demonstrating digital inking over a pencil sketch and using Painter's (I assume) Rotate Page tool:

Also check the other Corel Painter videos listed under Related Videos on the right side of the page.

Be sure to check Nate Owens' thread, A few demo videos (with sound, etc.) showing works in progress for more of his videos.

Thanks to Ursula Freer who posted this link on the digital-fineart list at Yahoo! Groups on December 28, 2007.

We can learn a few things from this one.

    Hi Jin (Neighbor),

Thanks for the heads up regards this new forum.  As an introduction for me, the Creature Comfort YouTube was perfect, especially the last little bit "Leave your mark"

I have to do a bit of exploring yet, the site isn't intuitive, but I'll figure it out.  This site looks like it will be a fun place.

    Hey Tom (Neighbor)!

It's good to have you here to keep me company along with all my other friends.

Creature Comfort video was great, a breath of fresh air, don'tcha think? ;)

No, the site isn't the most intuitive but once you get used to it, it's pretty nice. I love the way Steve designed it and I think that must be Andrew Jones' art at the top... a favorite of mine, he is.

Drag Jan over here, willya? And how about Jeff, and Paulo, and Edie, and all the others whose names escape me now but I'll think of them as soon as we hang up (so to speak).

    Cheers!

Corel just posted three videos I did for them. They're at the Corel UK web site, and seem to only be readable by Windows there. They're also at You Tube and readable by both Mac and Windows. Here's the Corel site: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/gb/en/Content/1194466949366 And here's the You Tube site: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MphkkQjTGXo Enjoy!

Hi Karen, The Windows media player files have sound but nopicture for me. I downloaded them fine, am using win xp sp2 with latest win media player.  The you tube  vids work fine, but I would like to see the bigger wmp files.

    Thanks

One of my all time faves.  Thanks for putting this here.

The receptivity of the artist must never be confused with passivity. Receptivity is the artist's holding him or herself alive and open to hear what being may speak. (Rollo May)

    Hi Doug,

Corel UK posted the tutorials at both their site and You Tube.

You'd have to direct your questions to them--you can post a message to them at the You Tube site.

    Doug and Karen,

Using WinXP Home SP2, I just downloaded the first of Karen's videos on the Corel site, extracted the ZIP file into a new folder, double-clicked the .WMV file, and Windows Media Player opened (version 11.0.5721.5230).

I got both sound and images, though the movie was rather small in the maximized Windows Media Player window. Still large enough, along with Karen's thorough naming of everything, to see and follow easily.

When there's more time available, I'll probably download and watch the other videos too.

    Didn't check the YouTube videos.

It's a well done video, Karen. Thanks for creating it and making it available for Corel to share with us.

It demonstrates clearly that Auto-Painting doesn't have to be a one-click process and definitely requires an artist's eye and hand for a beautiful result.

    Cheers!

I don't think this has been posted here yet, but thanks to Doug B who posted it in another forum, a link to more Jeremy Sutton videos, starting with:

Learning Corel Painter X 02b: RealBristle Brushes

This one gives a good demonstration of the Wacom Intuos 3 tablet and Wacom 6D Art Pen.

Check the other Jeremy Sutton videos on the right side of the page.

Excellent videos Karen. The only thing more I could wish for would be that the text on the screenshots were a bit more legible. I'm so glad you explained step by step as you went along. That was very helpful.

     Thank you so much.

Thanks-glad you enjoyed them! Again, I didn't have any control over anything but the content. The clarity of the screen shots is dependent on the resolution, determined after the raw files are created. However, the way video works, like still images, the better the resolution, the bigger the files. And with video, the bigger the files, the longer they take to load. I wasn't in on the post-production decisions, but my hunch is that Corel UK opted for smaller files with less resolution so that they would load more quickly.
