  • Re: Is there a way to see preview of Rif files?

I know that Quick look on a Mac lets you preview them. And Imageviewer, an app for Macs lets you see them too. If you're on a pc then you're out of luck. In more ways than one.

  • Re: Brush creator trouble

I forgot to mention that it did the trick on fixing the BC window. It still rearranges the tool bars and pallettes when it appears which is weird.  But at least it works again.

  • Re: Brush creator trouble

I went ahead and did the default open.  I forgot to save my workspace and lost all that but no worries, it needed redding up. I saved all my custom settings through the user to application file backup maneuver so I didn't lose those. Painter XI doesn't seem to have the same file structure as X. Where do custom workspaces and other ...

  • Re: Brush creator trouble

Thanks. I will try doing the brush control suggestion as I have an extra monitor in use with my Cintiq. The last time I tried to reset my app it was a lot of work to get back my custom stuff.  If you have the settings controls and a blank file that's basically what the brush control window is.

  • Brush creator trouble

I have been using P11 and love it except that my brush creator window no longer works. It worked at first but now it comes up behind pallettes and won't come out. It doesn't really work at all, there are lags in doing anything and it just refuses to correctly change the brush. In short, it sucks. Has anyone else had this trouble and are ...

You have a really nice watercolor look going there! What paper texture and brush are you using?

  • Watercolor cartoon

This is going into an upcoming issue of Hustler. All digital watercolor and a touch of chalk. Fountain pen inking scan. I use different paper textures laying in basic colors and then finish washes. Bristol board first and then French medium grain or cold press. Hot press too, I bounce around to see what looks coolest most times.

I said I loved it. I still do. Really sorry for the folks who are having trouble.

I think 11 is a lot better than 10. It works faster and is more stable on my Mac Pro. Mine has yet to crash. The new features are nice too. I just upped my RAM to 4 GBs and it has helped with the slower brushes like large camel hairs go faster. I think perhaps a lot of your troubles are related to using it on a pc, judging by how the remarks fall ...

  • Re: Lost a brush!

I found it! The comic inker ball point pen. I can't remember where I got it originally but it's a great brush. I found it with the help of Time Machine on my Mac. I went to Library>Application Support>Corel>Painter>brushes>pens and there it was. I can rest easy now. Also Comic art ball point was there too. I couldn't ...
