Hmmm. I would not say that, at least in my experience. Painter 11 run fast under Leopard on my Mini 2 Ghz and my Macbook Pro.

Honestly, I could not tell if it´s an Snow Leopard or Painter 11 issue, or both.

Uh, I supposed you had tried that on the first time. Disabling "Enhanced Brush Ghosting" solves most of these kind of issues.

Squeeze your G5; it´s is still a good machine. Of course, in the future even a Macmini will amaze you...
You can test your Mac and compare to other machines here, using Geekbench (these are mine). If you score 2000-3000 , Painter should run very well, so check it out.

Lana, your G5 is definitively a grrrreat machine, and it should handle Painter 11 very well. Of course any modern Intel multicore processor Mac, even a humble MacMini will beat your G5 in terms of processor performance but I´m with Syd on that.
