new to painter 10

i have painter 10 and am totally new at the art of doing any, (including real, not just digital) painting. i have found numerous tutorials, all of which are video, that do nothing to really guide me as i go along. my preference would be to learn by having a printed tutorial for a particular project....

Hi I believe that Painter X comes with Painter 6 water colour brushes. In the default layout, the brush selector is to the top right of the screen attached to the property bar. If it is not there then maybe reset your workspace by holding down SHIFT when opening Painter. ( export your current workspace...

Banding from Photoshop CS4 images...

Running Painter X on a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard OS. Not always, but often, when I open a Photoshop TIF image in Painter X banding lines appear at the bottom of the image. They then obviously reproduce in the Quick Clone mode. What causes this? What is the solution? Thanks! -JLM
