Check out what's new in Painter 12.2. The top line new content is as follows:
You can check out the release notes and the other fixes here. This update is FREE to all existing Painter 12 customers.
Special thanks to all the beta users that provided feedback and great visuals that show off Painter 12.2!
Attention Mac users. Given some changes that
Apple is introducing in their upcoming operating system, they are introducing
new online features that will require you to have the latest software updates
for 10.6 and 10.7. If you run into installation issues (installation failed
message), please check for updates and install the latest patches from Apple.
Make sure you apply all the patches including iTunes, Safari etc. One of these applications applies a security setting that solves this issue.
Once you have installed these patches, relaunch Painter and rerun the patch dmg
or simply Check for Updates with Painter to restart the Painter
is there any specific reason you've left out apple's native gesture support on mac os in favor of wacom touch features, effectively leaving any mac user with no-touch intuos 5, no touch cintiq 24 HD or any earlier tablet model but with magic trackpad (comes with any macbook pro laptop or sold separately at a cost of less than $ 100) that was the first multi-touch device on market?
is there anything that wacom made better than apple with intuos 5 gestures that explains this decision?
other than that, corel cinco looks interesting and apple users still don't have 64 bit support.
Great question - I use native Apple gestures with a Magic Mouse and the trackpad.
We were waiting on some select technology from Apple in order to implement gestures on the Apple trackpad. Unfortunately, we were not able to get this capability into 12.2, but it will come! Wacom has been a solid partner that is very focused on the digital art community. As a consequence, it made sense to support their entry into the world of gestures.
We did get our first iPAD companion app released today. If you have an iPAD, we would very much appreciate your feedback on Corel Cinco for Painter.
thank you very much a prompt reply. I'll be awaiting further updates to painter in that case, glad to know that this functionality will still get added.
I have to get a new working table to get some practical use for cinco (don't have space for another gadget alongside), but I'm curious to try it out later!
Many thanks for the update, ive downloaded, installed and am trying it out right now :)
Im switching over to a Mac at the end of this month, does this update support 64bit on Mac OSX?
We have many users very eager for 64-bit Mac. This effort is still ongoing. Painter 12.2 is not 64-bit on the Mac - only Windows for now.
