I just installed Painter Essentials 3 on my Vista machine. The program loads, but seems to hang instead of displaying the welcome screen. I can click on the menus, but all the options are greyed out except for those under help. All these options work except for the "Welcom..." option. If I click anywhere else in the program nothing happens.
Would you please let us know which version of Painter Essentials 3 you have?
You can find the version number by going to where you installed Painter Essentials 3. The default path would be C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Painter Essentials 3. Right click on 'Corel Painter Essentials 3.exe'. Click 'Properties' on the right click menu and click on the Version tab in the Properties dialog. It should be a number like 220.127.116.11.
There is a service pack available for Painter Essentials 3. If you go to this location: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ca/en/Content/1157481830100?pid=1177440922666 you should be able to download it. Please let us know if installing the service pack solves your issue.
I have updated it. Now i see a notebook, but it is blank and the program hangs like before.
If you hit the Escape key to dismiss the Welcome Book, can you use the application?
Just curious, do you happen to have an Epson printer installed as your default printer?
