I am a new user, and very happy with the Painter Essentials 6. My problem comes when I browse and select a photo from my collection, and it appears rotated in Painter Essentials. I've tried rotating the original image but that imports fine. How do I get these images to appear correctly?
In Essentials under Canvas tab should be rotational choices.
Why photos that have been rotated in Windows or another program don't appear rotated in Essentials I don't know- I've never had that problem.
Thanks, Ron, but that rotates only the canvas, not the imported picture.
Select the image with cmd (MAC) or CTRL (PC) pointer on the white square until the Rotate tool appears, rotate the image to the desired angle. If that's what you're looking for.
I don't know where the white square is. I click on Browse in the Photo Painting window and the photo I select which appears fine in my file list, comes into the photo painting window rotated counter clockwise. Sure, I could do what I want to the photo and paint it, then rotate the result, but I don't understand why I should have to. Working with a very directional image is difficult when you're forced to see it in the wrong direction.
The only ROTATE tool I have found rotates the canvas, not the clone source.
Thanks for your input, but I still don't have an answer.
