Windows 7 Installation Solution Option

I know many on this forum have had trouble installing PE4 on Windows 7, and one or two have found a work around.  One more additional procedure to try I found in the Painter Forum-

From Chris Price-

Finally purchased a new computer last night and made the jump from XP to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. When installing Painter, the autorun from the disk displayed a mostly transparent window with only the top left corner showing any content.  If you experience the same problem and can't access the "Install Now" button in the lower right corner, do the following:

  1. Right click your Desktop
  2. Choose Personalize
  3. If you haven't already, in the My Themes area, click "Save Theme" to save a backup copy of your current theme settings.
  4. In the themes area, scroll to the bottom to the Basic & High Contast themes
  5. Click Windows 7 Basic to apply the Basic theme - this turns off Aero glass and the window then draws itself as it should (Classic or any of the high contrast themes should work as well).
  6. Once you've installed Painter, you can return to your normal theme, complete with Aero glass, by following the same instructions and instead clicking your normal theme instead of the Basic theme.
