My new video tutorial series has been released by VTC today here:
http://www.vtc.com/products/corelpainterx3advanced.htm
The first 18 videos are free to watch. The total series is 8 hours long and covers the entire brush engine in-depth. I worked very hard to make sure users of all levels will find something useful to their particular workflow in this series.
hey jason
I've been eying that tutorial for a long time...but I'm on the edge to decide should I go with the 30$ monthly for the vtc subscription or wait for the 70punds for the single tutorial. But I loved all the free videos.
Finaly some tutorial that goes deep in the brushes and how they work.Up to now,for me, all tutorials were really shallow on that part.
I would probably opt for just paying the $30 for one month -- this way you can watch as much as you want in the month, and if if you find that you really want to own something you can go back later and pick it up.
I'm not sure if the version to own is really available yet (it is listed) -- I haven't received my copies at the very least.
Best,Jason.
Hi Jason,
I took the monthly route...so I can view the tutorials.I love them...and found a few new ways to make the brushes I already use and like...work even better. However one of the main reasons I was looking for a brush specific tutorial in the first place was this isssue with the scratchboard tool.I've attached a printscreen of the issue. Can you help me out?
That is a electrical issue with your home/studio and the wacom. From what I hear the solution is to use a grounded (3-pin) adapter between your wall socket and wacom.
However if it is a power issue then this is affecting all of your electronics. In my house and studio I use voltage regulators for any important electronics -- both to icrease the performance, but also to increase the longevity.
Here is the model I use: http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=67&ISOCountryCode=US
Huh...I would have never figured that one out. Thanks!
Since I'm outside the US I will have to find something for the local electrical system. It came to my mind that I have a UPS battery for my workstation somewhere in home. Will that work?
It may, many of the better quality batery backups also contain voltage regulation capabilities.
Hi Jason!
Following up on your suggestion.
I looked at it and althought it's not a high quality one he did had an automatic voltage regulator.Connecting it before my PC it did result in the brush acting more normaly.Atleast in the watercolor dab profile. But the main issue still remains.I get this acordeon like edge where it should be smooth.I've marked the preshure settings on my tablet.I've even tried with the eracer.
I'll post the same issue in wacom's forum. But my experience with wacom's service is that they claim "it's never the hardware's problem".
