I use Corel Painter 2017 on my desktop PC and on my laptop. I want to get something like a Surface Pro or a 2-in-1 tablet to run strictly Corel Painter -- something I could do plein air digital painting (yeah, I know, it sounds sacrilegious). It would be nice to be able to paint right on the screen while standing outdoors. I don't want to give up Wacom like features such as brush tilt, pressure sensing, etc.
I looked at the Surface Pro and Book today, as well as the HP Spectre and Lenovo 2-n-1 tablets. All of these have pens available, but I fear they are strictly one tilt angle and one pressure value.
What recommendations do folks have?

Yes, it is. Just to clarify, I recommended the Mobile Studio Pro as the most up to date version of the Wacom Tablet PC family, which includes the Companion and Companion 2. You can still buy these earlier versions of course but if it were me, I would get the most recent. There's actually not a great difference in price.
I have a Companion and it's great. Some people have experienced problems with powering and fan noise and a few other things with 1 and 2. Hopefully the new MSPro has addressed these issues.
