Dear all,
is there a way to simply change my painting into greyscales to check the values? For example in a layer or just change the navigator view in greyscales? It should not be permanently changed, I would just like to check the values from time to time cause I'm new to digital painting and cannot see the difference on first sight between the values in my painting yet.
This would help me a lot to improve and unfortunately, I did not find any tutorials or describtion in the painter manual or the forum. Would be grateful for any suggestions and help!
Many thanks in advance!
BR Silke

Have you tried using the channels? I decided to delete my copy since I am getting a mac soon and need to buy a mac version of the program, but I remember seeing the channels panel. So long as you don't need to keep it black and white, using the channels like you would in Photoshop (I didn't even click into that panel when I was using the program but I imagine it looks like the photoshop panel, and people use that all the time to check their values) Hope you figure it out soon!
Sorry. New baby for me, so I didn't get a chance to check things out on my side. And the "courses" is a spam bot, I suspect, at least from what I see here. I've reported both of those posts.
There does not seem to be a menu option, but as per this discussion a few years back, setting a top layer with the Composite type of Colorize, and setting that color to black, seems to work pretty nicely. You can just toggle that layer on and off.
