I just tried it. GPU acceleration is something I've been looking forward to for years. AND......it doesn't work on my pc. Even though my Radeon Fury X is OpenCL 1.2 compliant and I use OpenCL 1.2 renderers with my GPU. For whatever reason painter doesn't work with it, but even painter says it has OpenCL 1.2 but the option is greyed out. Nice job Corel. What a buzz kill.
considering they quietly shipped painter 2019 with no multi-core CPU support, this sounds 20/20 on brand for painter.
2019 HAS multicore. It has always worked great with 'em. Whaddaya?? I think if ya couldn't make up something to be miserable about you'd be profoundly unhappy. 20/20 is working wickedly good!
Try it out before grinching, this release is ACTUALLY causing the hairs on my neck to prickle!
Brendoon there's either some unfortunate choice of words, or intentional gaslighting going on with your comments for a while now;
on the subject of that particular feature "always" "working" "great":
https://painterfactory.com/painter_product_discussion/f/corel-painter-products/29096/painter-2019-mac-high-sierra-multicore-not-working
confirmed by painter 2019 SP1 release notes (not even mac-specific):
thank you for sharing an interesting personal anecdote about your neck hairs.
I agree with Brendoon, I never encountered any multi core issues in Painter 2019. And I've always monitored btw. I'm using Windows 10, so I don't know about the mac version.
Maybe it is a Mac thing, Aza. I'm on Windows 10 too.
I had to look up "gaslighting"... ha! Nothing subtle in my recommendations to examine your attitude to life in general.
All I can say is cheer up old boy! Just because something isn't working how one wants it to is NOT proof of crimes of conspiracy. You pointed that out to me about Adobe and I discovered you were right.
No need to Troll. Be a good guy, or at least have a bit of balance.
I'm always here for your unsolicited advice Brendoon, which only gets better in the context of outright hostile reaction to this release pretty much everywhere it's currently being discussed, and your performative excitement trying to counter-act that.
which is cool, I have no interest in arguing with you and your personal biases.
I'll just watch paintstorm and clip studio kick the declining corel app to death and sh/t on its grave from the sidelines.
Cor. I remember when "apps" were cut down, pocket sized versions of software on smart phones and ipads.
Gettin' old is SO durn cool.
