Has anyone been successful getting this to run on MacOS 10.13?
Hi Glenn, yes Painter 2020 should launch on 10.13...can you provide some more details?
-did you import a workspace from a previous version of Painter?
-is it crashing at every launch, or intermittently?
-reboot if you haven't recently
-try to redownload, uninstall and then reinstall (sometimes corrupted downloads can lead to these types of problems)
-after re-installing, be sure to hold shift at launch and 'restore all settings to factory defaults'
Keep us posted!
Thanks for your reply, Stephen. I have tried everything you mentioned, without success.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8 GB
NVIDIA Web Driver 3184.108.40.206.15.121
Crashes every time on launch.
I have not installed any updates to MacOS 10.13
** The Windows 10 version runs just fine on this machine.
Thanks Glenn and Oumhani. Glenn, is this a native Mac machine, or are you running some type of dual boot or VM software like Oracle Virtual Box? (I'll admit I was bit surprised to hear you also run Win 10 on this machine...I have seen good success running Painter on native Mac hardware with a bootcamp setup for OSX/Win10, but maybe this is something different?)
Windows and MacOS have their own separate SSDs. Clover is used to boot the target OS. The machine is a Hackintosh, not an Apple product, but I’ve never had any trouble running Mac software, including Painter 2017, Painter 2018 and Painter 2019.
I’ll be quite content to use Windows for 2020. The application looks really good to me. You guys did a great job!
Thanks for the extra info, Glenn...very cool setup. Ok I'll send you a PM I have one other thought, otherwise glad you can at least enjoy 2020 on Windows 10. Awesome porfolio, BTW. :-)
