After a crash I had to reinstall Painter2019. But the .exe-file does not respond. What can I do ? Can I download Painter2019 again to get a new .exe-file?
HI Bjorn, if you're unable to start Painter after a crash event, consider rebooting your machine and trying to launch Painter. In most cases it will launch again.
If that still doesn't work, consider launching with shift...all your customizations will be deleted, but again that should solve most other problems.
Hi, Stephen. I have tried that. When I click the .exe-file nothing happends. Since my 2019 is an Upgrade /download I do not have any backup. Do you know it is possible to download a P2019 trial Version I can install. I do have a license key ?
Hi Bjorn, maybe try this link?
You will see a "Previous Versions of Painter" down the page a little bit...2019 should already be selected for you.
Once downloaded, run the install and your previous license key should unlock it. Best wishes... Steve
Thanks alot, Stephen. It worked. I hope ypu can help me with one more thing: The reason I uninstalled the Painter2019 was that when I add a NEW LAYER, I cannot Paint on it - only on the canvas. And this happen on the NEW Painter2019 I just installed, too. It must be something that Blocks the New layers. Do you have an explanation why? I also have Painter2018 and there all Works fine.
Hi again, Stephen. I found out what was wrong: The PRESERVE TRANSPARENCY was on. Thanks so much for friendly support !
So glad you're up and painting again! Yes, preserve transparency is a tricky one, and there are couple more causes of not being able to paint (i.e. a small selection, worn stylus nib, etc) but you found it. Awesome. Enjoy Bjorn!
