Noticing very viable comments and concerns from loyal customers. Corel doesn't seem to acknowledge or care?
As a Painter user since Painter4, I find this really disheartening and discouraging.
Every few months someone from Corel may show up and answer a few questions, but mostly user to user here.
Stephen and a bunch of other tech support accounts registered over past year represent corel on here;
there's a social media person in charge of their facebook.
painter's biggest source of innovation and feature input in the recent 5+ years is their direct competition they rip off, not the customer response - which they generally opted out to ignore in the past either.
Corel Painter & Paint Shop Pro used to be leading edge a few years ago. Sadly this is no longer true. Painter & PSP used to be fantastic products & reasonably priced.
I think the sad truth is that painter has pretty much lost its edge immediately following the corel acquisition.
I really hate getting addicted to the damn thing back when it had its moment because retrospectively, the stress and waste of time I got from it were not worth the comforts of being familiar with the software and its brushes most of which were reliably broken after painter 8 or 9 or X or XII came out with shoddy, messy brush engine "updates" and overhauls done by corel loons.
thankfully, the alternatives of now are much better too; no need to listen to the swan-singing of GPU accelerated brush tech that used to blend paint better in 2001.
Yes they actually care, there are always looking for the forum feedback. But its hard to get the updates we want right a way, it takes a lot fo time and developing. Yeah the forum needs more updates, or people just move on to reddit, forums arent popular anymore like they use too.
