Is anybody else on a Mac experiencing the same frustration as I am, in terms of a real jumpy, laggy performance when zooming, panning and rotating your artwork? Used to be smooth as silk before I upgraded to latest version of Catalina.
If any of you know of a solution - it’d be greatly appreciated if you shared that info!
Thanks in advance
BE AWARE BEFORE YOU UPDATE TO LATEST VERSION OF CATALINA!
This video and the numbered rundown I sent to tech support will explain:
PLEASE: Watch this short video to clearly explain the degrade in performance from old Mac to New. Performance on old Mac is superior???
Hi, understand your frustration.
Corel Painter 2019 is listed with macOS 10.13, OS X 10.12 and OS X 10.11 compatibility. Mac OS Mojave (10.14) compatibility added with update v1. I had a tchat with Corel Support with some previous version. With yearly macOS system update, Corel have not the ressources to update each Corel version with the new macOS.
Hi, what GPU do you have in your New iMac ? The performances numbers you give look a little weird to me : 1774 with a brand new iMac. Painter 2021 is giving me 3164 with a 2009 Mac Pro and a Radeon 580x card. The performance test is not all : I have snappier brushes on my MacBookPro 2013 (1444 score) than on my Old Mac Pro with more recent GPU.In fact more brushes are Avx2 accelerated (Not supported on my Macpro) than Gpu accelerated.
Could you check Corel Painter 2021 / Preferences / performance ? Does the GPU box is checked ?
I am on Catalina also and do not have lag. perhaps nothing but I notice the empty slots on your too machines aren't located at the same place (upper / lower on graphics).
It look at an issue on your Mac hardware or session.
You could perhaps test Corel painter on a new fresh session to see I the matter is still there.
There is also a way to star macOS with no extensions
To restart a Mac OS computer with extensions off, hold down the Shift key during start-up. Keep holding it down until you see the Welcome to Macintosh dialog box with "Extensions Off" shown at the bottom of the box.
Shift
Welcome to Macintosh
