Is anybody else on a Mac experiencing the same frustration as I am, in terms of a real jumpy, laggy performance when zooming, panning and rotating your artwork? Used to be smooth as silk before I upgraded to latest version of Catalina.
If any of you know of a solution - it’d be greatly appreciated if you shared that info!
Thanks in advance
I’m very pleased to check back to announce that Level 2 Customer Support did get back to me today. They informed me that this issue has been elevated to engineering, and they assured me that they’re keen on resolving ASAP. They also assured me that they would let me know as soon as that solution is in place. I’m feeling the love again! This program is a fav - so I hope it’s resolved quickly.
Hi Tom, I have been experiencing the same severe lag while panning and rotating the canvas in Painter 2019 on a new Macbook Pro running Catalina. Another issue going back at least two versions is a lag when toggling layer visibility. Have you had a reply from customer support? Thanks
Hi jonathan. Don't think it is strictly a Catalina issue. I am on catalina and painter 2019 on not recent MacBook Pro Late 2013, intel iris plus Nvidia 750 M. This specific Nvidia laptop card hardly recognized for Painter 2020 / 2021 gpu acceleration.
But no panning / rotating lag in 2019. No lag either on my really old 2009 Macpro 4.1 on catalina + painter 2019, Ati RX580 8 go Gpu.
Just some few "real watercolor" brushes are ugly on both Macs, not on their windows bootcamp partition with same gear. (I suspect the apple's OPEN GL downgrade choice be the cause of that. apple stay at 1.2 even if my Rx580 is open Gl 4.3 compatible).

Go back to your issues it looks like more a driver / gear issue than a catalina issue : I am free of your issues and I am running same macOS.
