Hi Guys,
I have an older version of Paint Shop Pro. I couldn't find anywhere else to ask this question so hope I'm in the right place.
When I open a transparent png image I see the checkerboard background all the time which prevents me from editing the image.
Is there a way I can get rid of that background..?
Cheers,
Ron.
Hi Ron, these are the forums for Corel Painter...maybe you wish to post here? https://forum.corel.com/viewforum.php?f=56
Either way maybe I can help...this is likely an image with a transparent background, such as a PNG. When they open it, you typically see 2 layers...the bottom is 'transparent' and the top has the image of the skateboarder. You can create a layer in between these two, and fill with color, and hopefully that should make it easier to edit.
I think, as I've been using this one for only a couple of weeks, if it's an object in a new doc than unless you say so it openes with a transparent background. What I do with this is go to layers and flood fill it with a colour I want - unless I want the background to be transparent.
Thanks Guys,
It is a png but what confuses me is that I never used to see the checkerboard layer when I opened these before...I can't add a coloured layer as I want to paste the image into another image...I just thought there might be a way of removing that particular background..I'll have to work aroiund it...
