Painter 2022 Looks Promising!!!

Last time I posted here, I was on a rampage about 2021 – and I finally got through to Corel billing for a full refund on that upgrade.

Having played around with the trial version of 2022 for a few days, I decided to purchase this upgrade, because much of what I complained about in 2021 has been resolved.

I was hopeful that Painter's layers functionality would be more like PhotoShop - which is not the case. But the more intolerable bugs seem to have been cleaned up.

ONE IMPORTANT THING OF NOTE (FOR ME ANYWAY):

On my new (late 2020) iMac, a major deal-breaker in Painter 2021 for me, was the jumpy page rotation, zooming and panning. At default display settings, Painter 2022 still has this jumpy behavior on my Mac, but not nearly as bad.

Note that you can eliminate this jumpy behavior by changing your display color profile to the one seen in attached image. Not sure if that'd mess up your color calibration for other apps, but for me, I'm willing to toggle this profile for a better Painter drawing experience.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS THAT I'VE NOTICED SO FAR, AND LOVE!!!

The perspective tool is 100000% improved. Super easy to set and save different custom perspective view options. If you've ever tried perspective tool in previous versions, you'll know what I'm talking about.

The interface is crisp and gorgeous

More to discover, but it just seems to run so much faster and smoother. I think hate has turned back to love on this release!
