I'm new to Corel Painter, but after getting an Intuos3 I got pretty interested in this supposedly awesome app.
My problem is that I can't get it to work properly. I'm running the demo from Corel's website and it seems like a good thing I haven't yet throwed money after it. When I open the program all the palettes are centered in the application window. If I try to move them they just jitter while I drag and stays centered when I release them. If I close a palette and then reopens it the program crashes - everytime.
My system specs are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
8 GB Kingston HyperX RAM
WD Raptor Sata hdds
Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra
Asus Striker II Formula motherboard
Vista Ultimate 64-bit
Corel Painter X 10.1.053 demo
Very odd! Haven't heard that problem before. Have you tried holding down the shift key while the application is booting up to reset to default, just incase anything has corrupted?
Nope. But I'll try it later today. Thanks for the info.
After Painter first launches, you could also try Window menu> Arrange palettes> Default. There was also an issue with Matrox video cards, which had Matrox PowerDesk enabled and "Center Dialog Boxes" checked.
That's fantastic! As mentioned above I can't test right now, but I forgot to mention that I have a Matrox TripleHead2Go (and therefore PowerDesk installed), so that's probably what is causing my trouble.
Yup, it was PowerDesk messing up the program.
Unchecking the "Center dialog boxes and message boxes:" did the trick.
Thank you very much :)
