Just upgraded to Painter 2020. I've only had the update 3 days and I get the error message "not enough memory" after almost every thing I do such as pick a brush.
I am on a MAC LAPTOP PRO, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3, 2.9 ghz intel core 17, using Mojave.
This is driving me crazy. I upgraded from Painter 2016, where I never had a problem.
Hmm, not seeing that on my Mojave-powered 2015 Macbook pro with 16bg RAM and 2.5 ghz intel i7...similar system...so hopefully we can get it working for you.
Did you happen to import a legacy workspace? If so, consider restoring all settings to factory defaults.
Can you share a screenshot of the memory error? Are they custom brushes, or brushes included with the program?
Could there be something using up memory, like another program? Or are you basically using 2020 the same way you used 2016?
Really 2020 should run nicely on this setup...
I have the same system:
MacBook Pro (15 inch, 2016)
2.9 Ghz Intel Core i7
16 Gig RAM 2133 MHz LPDDR3
with Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB using 10.14.5 (Mojave)
I am not seeing any "not enough memory " message.
Could you please confirm what type of Graphics you have in the system;
Also what brushes you are selecting or is it with any brush you select you get the warning and crash?
Did you run the Brush Accelerator test?
Did you try starting with holding Shift key to reset the workspace?
Thank you for any more info/details you can provide.
Could it be that because you upgraded from 2016 instead of 2019? It might be missing essential software from the other upgrades, 17,18 and 19. I have the 2019 upgrade on my Mac and after reading of the many faults on Macs, I am considering skipping this upgrade. Best of luck Margecraft. I hope you get it sorted.
Any luck ?
