Dear Corel Painter Team,
while the general speed of the 2020 release is a real improvement, the function of the basic digital water color brush is not (see screenshot) - those stripes can only be removed by setting wet fringe to 0 - happens in all brush libraries. Any way to fix this ? (it's a very important tool, still....)
Wow! I wonder what's going on there.
I use "New Simple Water" an awful lot. Luckily that works fine on my machine.
Are you on 2020, too? It's working fine in 2019 ... and previous releases. I wonder if the new acceleration has something to do with it..?
In previous versions I've had the odd issue that nobody else seems to have... some quirk of my particular lineup of hardware, Windows environment and Painter.
All I can say is I'm glad I'm not a software programmer!
On my particular hardware/software environment with the demo of 20/20 the wet fringe on "New Simple Water" appears to be fine.
I'm hoping the solution will be simple but I can't suggest anything past wild guesses.Though in recent years I've bought every update there were many times I skipped a year. Hopefully that's not the only answer.
Hmm, so far I haven't had any issues with "New SImple Water" or any other digital watercolor brushes, is the brush imported? Can you post the brush file I'm happy to try it out and see if I can duplicate what you are seeing. Also let me know if you adjusted any settings for the brush (i.e. size, opacity, etc.)
Do the artifacts disappear when you zoom in and out, or are they part of the painting?
effect stays the same with imported brush or 2020 version. Also, zoomfactor, opacity, size don't make a difference.
It is "new simple water" - the artifacts are part of the strokes.
