Now if it would get bigger as the color triangle is enlarge that would help, but straight of the bat: it is to small. Why is it so small, when color is so essential; I'm thinking that it would be a good thing if it was three times as big or at least twice as big.... Again, why is it so small....
it's resizable dove x
Color triangle is resizable, but the main color circle does not get bigger, as the triangle resizes....
Maybe you have found some kind of bug? Can you share a screenshot so we can see what it looks like?
Here is a hyperlink to the help: http://product.corel.com/help/Painter/540219480/Main/EN/Win-Documentation/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=Corel-Painter-Displaying-the-Color-panel.htmlNow I know that the triangle gets bigger, but the main color window and termed, by this help window is what I am saying cannot get any larger: no matter how big the triangle is dragged, the main color circle remains that nickel sized main color ring.... I am saying that it would help me a lot if that window was three time the size it is....
You can see that the triangle is larger, but that the main color window is still that small nickel sized ring....
I actually agree, the color sample could at least have gotten a few extra fixed size options (like a medium and a large size, provided current one is called small)
there's no reason it is set to one defined size from 2011 while everything else in painter UI is going through a gigantomania wave of some sorts.
my only suggestion is to make a test stroke every time you're about to make a crucial color choice, and quickly undo/overpaint it later. that way your canvas also reflects the color you will get based on brush blending/saturation variables.
Thanks for the screenshot!
Yes, the size of the color swatches and thickness of the ring do not increase in size as you scale up the window. You may also have found that scaling up that window forces other panels to increase in size, and that probably reduces the amount of room you have for your paintings.
So here's a thought...have you tried the 'temporal color picker'. It has a bigger swatch, can also be resized to be larger, but can also be used over top of your painting, making it easier to compare your newly selected to color to your painting.
It can be opened by doublle-clicking on the Main/Additional swatchs, or alternatively choosing "Ctrl+Alt+1". ("Cmd+/Opt+1" on Mac.)
You can grab the edge of the circle to resize it.
It can also be used in conjunction with the Compact color selector (Window > Color Panels > Color Panel (Compact)". This would allow you to:
1. Have a large color picker, with a large swatch. (it shows either main or additional color, not both)
2. Choose color in the context of your document
3. Have a set of color sliders readily available
4. Perhaps allow you to hide or close the main color selector, such that you can keep your panels smaller and have more room for painting.
Here's a screenshot where I have all 3 color pickers open, you can see that I increased the size of the 'temporal color picker':
Yes! I use the temporal picker all the time; noticed right away that it does not split the color, like the color panel triangle "Main Color Circle" does, and wondered why: Corel would do such a thing? Still, this small circle is to small and without the enhancement, of split the color, it is not as valuable as the "Main Color Circle", in the color panel.
