i am stuck in painter 11 because the blending tools are essential for how i am working. After that version the tools
no longer respond the same. i would love to update and stay current. But the blender tools are a deal breaker.
is there a way to get these same blenders installed in the newer versions?
You can switch to the Painter 11 brush library in the brushes panel.
Yes, in newer versions of Painter there is a Painter 11 Brush Library as Manji312 mentioned.
this might be an issue with painter brush tracking. pretty much every painter release comes with different internal calibration of the way it responds to brush pressure. I remember painter X being one of the worst versions in this aspect, painter 11 somewhat improved on that, and painter 12 had different, but not better, pen recognition.
chances are painter still ships with the same blenders, but they don't work in the same way because corel overhauled pen response, and that won't be possible to be roll back to exact painter 11 values.
I have a similar problem with painter brush response, but my preferred painter brush tracking set-up dates back to painter IX.
thanks for the insights. I really appreciate your responses. will try to check out the brush library in a newer version a friend has to see if they are there.
I was wondering if the painter elements might have the blend tools I need.
Also, if you find the pressure response is not as expected (as per ipetcats' response) consider updating the brush tracking values by going to Menu > Preferences > Brush Tracking. I personally find it easiest to sketch in the little window to get the appropriate pressure curve for my style of painting. :)
