Painter 2021 (still in trial mode) installed fine and working well.
still have same issue that occurred with 2020...
Often, not every time, when shift drag a brush (or other item) to create a new custom palette, sometimes works...
I have about a 20% success rate.
try to move item in palette or add more...and BOOM..Painter is dead...responds to nothing, is hung with 12% cpu usage, won't close in any way except to use task manager to kill it...
and of course all is lost regarding the palette and anything not saved immediately before.
I give up trying to make custom palettes.
I reported this same thing for 2020. I am VERY careful with holding keys and in correct order...still get many crashes
Call me frustrated and Corel not having looked at this issue???
What OS and what version are you using please? What are your system specs?
Dell xps8930 PC: i7-8700 gtx1080 1TB SSD 2TB HDD
p21 performance = 6046 all green
everything else p21 and all other programs have no issues
Today it worked OK for several shift drag/drop brushes
but p21 crashed closed opening a .png icon file I used on p20 (everytime)...could be 1 bad file? so I made new one. other old similar .png and .jpg files were OK
More info/feedback. Dragging from an imported box file/palette to another custom palette seems to work well/OK all the time but the same brush shift dragged from the brush selection panel will crash Painter every time...tho in both cases the brush works correctly as a brush.
Also found Painter would crash doing simple image open if I had defrag running in background...even tho it was defraging an alternate (backup) HDD that Painter would not be using.
If I click on brush then hold down shift I have a better chance than hold shift and then click and drag...if one way or the other is wrong, then Painter shouldn't crash but should simply not work...like if you drag and hold no other key down; nothing happens. like it should.
