Tried various files, made by Corel, iconxxxx.png
open via menu in Painter 2022 yields instant P22 crash and closes Painter
I was simply going to make a new version of an icon to use as a custom icon.
This has happened several times, over a couple weeks, opening different .png files
Everything else P22 works OK (except search functions still).
My workaround is to open, modify, save .png or .jpg using Photoshop, and use those new custom icon files in P22 and they work OK; as custom icons in custom palettes (yay! that is fixed for me in P22; was broken in P21).
Anyone else with same experience P22 crashing on opening .png files?
I'm not having this issue, Doug...I just opened several different PNG files with/without transparency in P22 no issues.
Maybe post the file here? I'm happy to try and open it on my system and let you know how it goes.
I tried several .png files today and all opened OK. If in future the problem arises, I'll post the .png file.
No PC changes made recently so no known source of problems but perhaps P22 and/or PC OS restart resolved issue?????
Glad it's working again! Yes if it shows up again feel free to post the PNG here and I'll try it for you.
Today, I opened 2 .png files OK (PC on 1 hr, only did emails, then P21 to export .txt scripts, imported a couple scripts to P22 and assigned custom icons in custom palette), but then this swap colors.png (similar to other files for size and content) instantly closed P22, no notices/errors/etc.
P22 restarts OK but previous changes of course were lost. Aggravating!
Yep, that PNG crashes on my system also! What program was it made in?
I took that file, opened it in Corel Photo Paint, then re-saved the PNG. Opened in Painter...no crash. So I'm wondering if there's certain PNG settings/attributes that are causing the issue...
