I've just purchased Painter 2022 and have downloaded the latest Painter2022.dmg file from the 'Patches&Updates' Support section of Painters website.
Unfortunately the installer app inside the .dmg is Intel and won't run on my new M1 Apple Silicon Mac unless I install Rosetta 2 which I don't want to do.
By running the same Painter2022.dmg file on my older Intel Mac I noticed that the installer app is just a shell script which downloads the actual Painter2022.pkg for the active Mac OS and hardware you're currently trying to install it on to, so this installer isn't really needed, just the Painter2022.pkg which resides somewhere on Corels servers.
My question is, is there anyway to manually download the M1 Apple silicon version of the CorelPainter22_M1.pkg from Corels server instead of using the Painter2022.dmg which will only runs on my Intel Mac, not on my M1 Apple Silicon Mac unless I install Rosetta 2 (which I don't want to do)?
Thanks for your help in advance.
For M1 system, you do not need to install any additional file from Patches and Updates page.
Simply download the Mac build from here Digital Art & Painting Software - Corel Painter (painterartist.com)The installer will detect that it is an M1 system and install the correct build.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.
