One of the other folks mentioned the lag in switching between brush and eraser...
...I have to admit that's been vexing me today for the first time, using 20/20.
I used to get a lag between 2011 brushes and (e.g) 2018 brushes, but not between eraser and brush.
Is there a workaround for this?
It really interrupts a good drawing frenzy...
this has been a recurrent issue with several recent painter versions, they work more or less as expected following the installation, and something happens over time, causing the brush/eraser swap delay.
I spent a few hours with a 2020 trial, and (to my surprise) the tool switch was immediate. it would likely degrade over time.
if corel allowed users to set up custom hotkeys for different brushes (not different tools), this issue would have had a workaround.
right now, you have to wait for them to patch it, I guess.
Perhaps your specs are high enough to not get any delay? My PC's not as young as I remember it.
Working in 20/20 today I realised I wasn't especially noticing the lag, even though it was there.
I have cpu cores and avx thing set correctly, but my gpu is not supported/recognized.
I dropped 2020 a few hours in due to absolutely messed up brush resize, but tool delay was virtually non-existent.
After an optional update of the Radeon GPU driver the lag has reduced to only about a second, and now it catches up with strokes applied during the lag.... before the update those strokes would be lost. That means it no longer interrupts the work-flow on this machine.
This version is looking attractive to me, though I'll wait til' I'm flush with cash before upgrading.
