After spending the entire week online and on phone with Corel Tech support, it's become apparent that Painter apps (for me, that'd be Painter2019 and Painter2021) are laggy and sluggish. NewIntel Core i7 has yet to be flushed out with these folks, so if anybody at Corel tells you that you need to upgrade – they're completely off. Corel needs to release some sort of patch for us new Mac owners pronto!!!!
very typical for corel; fingers crossed they'll fix this in the october/november patch, giving their habit of delaying substantial bugfixes until the next major release.
too bad painter 2019 is affected with OS upgrade, this means pretty much mandatory upgrade to painter 21/22 for anyone considering a new mac purchase from now on.
Well Corel Support is not that good. It could be an issue with your macOS session, something either material or other Software (Extensions) .

In fact, with your brand new iMac you should call Apple assistance. They could help you to find out what is the issue.
typically, you don't have capability to fix workflow-breaking issues like the one described here on the user side. for example, all painter versions prior to painter 2019 on mac will have broken legacy cursor rendering, and there's no way ever you'll be able to fix it yourself.
there're very specific rare exceptions, but corel have to address the iffy painter code and release a patch for that.
If it is a really a Corel Painter 2021 software issue, you are perfectly right, he had to wait a patch.
When they don't find the solution, support center often give an explanation you don't have to buy. Life proved me a lot of time, the issue resolved by other techs, that they were wrong.
I don’t trust Corel painter no to good (polite version) delocalized support at all and their response to end a long call. It is the customer hardware who is faulty, lol
I it were the truth, we could be able to find online iMac 2020 + Corel Painter 2021 hundred worldwide similar issues testimony. I am in such with several Mac forums and I don't see any.
Lot of things outside Corel Painter could be responsible of the issue described, Wacom driver never great with new OS, and so on.
he need to investigate by himself or with a better support. Apple support is another one.Does the issue remains in new session ? Does the issue remains with no extensions enabled (Reboot and shift) ? (and trying to zoom again in Painter) Does the Corel Support suggested that ?

i am betting this issue described can be solved with a (serious) investigation.
