Lost the Layer Window

Hi, sorry this is probably a stupid question, but I've been playing with the program for an hour now and can't seem to figure this out.  I use Coral Painter Essentials 5,  I'm pretty new to these programs in general.

Usually I have the layers window at the side where it can be used easily.  However I opened the program today and couldn't find the layers window anywhere.  I checked the windows tab and it is supposed to be showing.  Is there a way to bring it to it's original place?

Thank you so much

  • Is this with Painter or Essentials? If Painter then try Window > Arrange Palettes > Default.

Or if you don't want to change your layout:

In Painter/Essentials go to Window and deselect and then reselect the Layers panel to bring it to focus.
Press ALT then Spacebar together but in that order.
Press M for move and then any arrow key.
The panel will now follow your cursor.
  • I know this is a really old post, but I thought I might as well answer it in case anyone else has the same difficulty.

I'm using Coral Painters Essential 6, and the same thing here happened to me. The layers tab disappeared, even though it said in 'Windows' it was open.

FIX: Go to Window > Layouts > Quick Switch > Toggle layout

The layers tab should reappear in it's original spot.
