After waiting a period of time and paying attention to the topic here, I've just recently upgraded to Mojave. Unfortunately I've noticed an issue with Painter 19. Whenever I open or save a document the program freezes for @ 10-15 seconds.
Another problem that noticed with High Sierra (that hasn't disappeared) is the curser not working for about the same amount of time after having been working in other applications. I talked to Corel tech support about this issue a few months ago, but got no follow-up.
While neither of these are deal breakers, they are pretty irritating and I'm looking into downgrading OS (but not looking forward to it).
I'm on a 2013 3.5 GHz,Intel i7 iMac with 32 GB of memory and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics card.
For the freezing issue, please check out this thread: https://painterfactory.com/painter_product_discussion/f/got-a-question-technical-issue-bug-report-for-the-painter-team/29455/painter-2019-hangs-when-open-save-save-as-are-called-on-the-file-menue
I am not familiar with the cursor problem, and would need more information about it. What are the steps that cause it?
Awesome, Stephen. That seems to have fixed the freeze problem. The curser issue is explained better here (couldn't think of the right words). I started having the problem around the time I upgraded to High Sierra while using Painter 15. It went away for a bit when I upgraded to 19, but came back after a couple of weeks and persists to this day. Curser Unresponsive
I'm saving all files to a folder on the desktop. The problem is occurring as I hit save as I'm working on these files. Having a look in preferences and there doesn't seem to be a function to allow me to add the Painter app
Nuts, had hoped that would help. Question, are you on Painter 2019 Update 1? Or the original "GM" release?
Here's something we can test...interested to see if this will help, I recommend trying it on 'non-critical artwork'...with a test document and no important docs open.
1. Go to Preferences>General
2. Uncheck "Create backup on Save"
Any improvement in your ability to save?
Actually, I did do that and it seems to have solved the problem , although I prefer not to have back-up versions crowding out the folder ( I’m a neat freak on my computer- but my studio is a mess). For the time being I’ll go with this solution.
I am operating with the latest update. Do you think I should just trash everything and go for a re- install?
Glad it's at least working now, Mark. At this time, I'd say it's hard to determine whether the issue is rooted in Mojave or Painter, so a re-install of Painter may not help. If you find your workflow is stable now, consider waiting for the next Mojave update and (if you're ok to) post here and let us know if anything changes. I'm sure many people here would be interested (myself included)
