How to apply a surface texture to all layers at once?

How to apply a surface texture to all layers at once? Ty.

  • Hi Franco,

Here are a couple of ideas to make applying the effect faster...

    1. Scripting:

    a) Go Menu>Window>Scripts

    b) Select a layer you want to apply the surface texture to

    c) Click the "Record a new script" button on the Scripts panel

    d) Menu>Effects>Apply Surface Texture

    e) Click the "Stop script playback" button on the scripts panel, give the script a name

    f) Select the next layer you want to apply the surface texture to, ensure the new script is selected then cilck "Play" on the scripting panel. You will still need to do the effect one layer at a time; however, it should help reduce clicks.

I would guess that it may be possible to modify the scripts to apply the surface texture to all layers in the document, but unfortunately that is beyond my expertise.

    2. Create a custom palette:

    a) Go Menu>Window>Custom Palette> Add Command (a dialog will pop up)

    b) With the dialog showing, click Menu>Effects>Apply Surface Texture

    c) A custom palette will appear. Now you have a button to access the "Apply surface texture" command, again you will still need to do the effect one at a time, but at least it will be fewer clicks.
