I just purchased Painter 2020 and am noticing some lag on my new Mac Pro. The machine specs are:
12 Core CPU
64 GB's ram
Radeon Pro Vega II
When performing tasks such as rotating or panning the canvas it is really laggy. I Initially noticed this on my Cintiq pro but it also performs poorly on the xdr monitor as well.
Is this expected or am I experiencing some unique performance issues? Certainly the machine can handle such remedial tasks? Perhaps something can be tuned in the app settings that I'm not aware of?
painter's canvas viewport is, unfortunately, very slow, bugged down, and dated, especially in comparison to the current competing applications.
this gets worse once you add dozens of layers, layer groups, masked layers, etc.
there's nothing you can do to get drastic performance boost with this until corel address the core problem with document handling. so far, their performance tweaks when it comes to speed and response are all geared towards brush engine, with oftentimes questionable results.
Ugh, thats terrible. I was hoping to use it for some sketch work but I simply cannot. As I have just purchased it I tried to find info on a refund but cannot find any. Is it possible to get a refund?
I just ended a chat with corel support and requested a refund.
Just for added info; what does the performance report show? all green? any anomalies?
When I ran the performance test it showed that all aspects of my system exceeded the requirements but I was surprised to see the score read 1012 as "good" rather than something along the lines of "excellent" for my system. What exactly does one need to achieve a better score I wonder?
