I'm using a Wacom cintiqe Pro touch. When I'm drawing and go to zoom or pan with my fingers there's a delay before I'm able to pan/zoom. Its a sizable delay like 2-3 seconds. I used to solve this issues by going to edit-->preferences-->Tablet and switching between "wacom and Windows touch devices" and "Windows touch device", that would resolve it. But in the new 2022 version that won't work anymore. I've had this issue from the 2019-2022 edition's of painter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (my system is a ryzen 5 1600 | geforce gtx960 | 16GB ram | windows 10.
Hi Danmanduka, is your Wacom driver the latest version?
yes, it is - 6.3.44, windows is also up to date. It doesn't do the same thing in photoshop when I switch between pen and touch (if that helps).
Ok thanks. Are you using an imported workspace? Do you have a lot of customizations? Do you happen to know if it happens with a clean/fresh workspace?
If you aren't sure if it happens with a clean workspace and want to test it, you can try these steps:
1. Export your current Painter 22 workspace by going Window > Workspace > Export Workspace. Save it in a secure place.
2. If you have more than one workspace, switch to the other workspace(s) and export them as well (most people only have one)
3. Once backed up, hold shift at start and restore all workspaces to their factory defaults
4. Test the pan/zoom both with/without the fix that used to work in P2021 / 2020 / 2019
Any luck? If yes that's great info, and there is hopefully a way to rebuild the workspace if you have a lot of customizations.
Its a clean install no modifications to the workspace. I haven't imported my old workspace yet. Would a new install pull anything from a previous version?
Ok so it sounds like the workspace isn't the cause. Sorry to say I'm not sure I have any other ideas, off the top of my head, I'll keep thinking and if one comes to mind I'll post here. Also some of the other Painter Factory board members may have ideas, so maybe they will post here as well...
I got it solved, thanks - I deleted all my wacom drivers and re-installed them. Thanks after I read through your suggestions I figured I'd try the driver again. I'd done this with the last version and it didn't help so between the new painter and windows the "delete and reinstall" of the driver worked. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the update, that's great news! I'm glad I was of some help, although I must say you did all the hard work and very good troubleshooting you did there to do the full delete/uninstall of the Wacom driver. They can be very tricky that way!
Best wishes on your painting projects.
